Mitt's Secret Stop in Switzerland

Disguised as a typical Swiss, wearing lederhosen and Alpine cap with a feather in it, Romney went unrecognized.

Following his impressive victory lap at the London Olympics last week, Mitt Romney left aboard his chartered jet for Israel. En route, the plane made a secret stop in Switzerland, ostensibly to refuel. According to an impeachable source, his true purpose was to visit his secret accounts in an underground Swiss vault.

Disguised as a typical Swiss, wearing lederhosen and Alpine cap with a feather in it, Romney went unrecognized. Having lived in France for two and a half years, Romney speaks French and did so with everyone he encountered. Fortunately, this source had a hidden digital recorder, which captured what Romney had to say.

Addressing his numbered accounts, he began:

(My dear, my precious children. It is I, Big Mitt, your father, who speaks to you. It touches my heart to be in your presence after such a long absence. My goodness, how you have grown and, as I well know, prospered over the years. I am so happy to see you again.)

He paused for a moment and then said:

(Seeing you today, I think back to when I first conceived you -- all by myself. What a pleasure that was! With your incorporation, I brought you to life. You became persons, my dear children. You have led a good life here, nourished by the sweet Swiss bankers who have only our interests foremost in their hearts.)

His voice seemed to catch as he continued:

(But seeing you now also makes me sad. I would love nothing more than to bring you home with me to America. Alas, I cannot. Unlike your gentle Swiss guardians, a vicious giant bestrides the land. Without a second thought, he would devour you the moment you first set foot in the United States. This ogre would rip you, my children, from my very arms, and there would be nothing I could do to protect you. Rather than see you suffer so cruel a fate, I must leave you here in Switzerland where you will be safe, where you will not be touched by so much as a finger of that villain who calls himself Uncle Sam.)

Romney stopped speaking, and for a minute or so, one could hear only an occasional muffled sob. Then, a second voice spoke softly:

(Don't worry, sir. Your corporations are safe with us. Know that they are safe from all danger.)

When Romney spoke again, his voice is strong:

Non, vous ne comprenez pas! Les sociétés sont des personnes, mon ami. Les gens! Mon peuple!

(No, you do not understand! Corporations are people, my friend. People! My people!)
