NPR: Carl Kasell To Give Final Newscast

According to National Public Radio, Carl Kasell will be stepping down from his post as newscaster on December 30, 2009.

Born in 1934, Kasell joined NPR in 1975 as a part-time newscaster for All Things Considered and became the full-time newscaster for Morning Edition in 1979.

He will continue to appear as official judge and scorekeeper on the weekly news quiz "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!". "I'm just changing jobs, not disappearing," he said.
