President Obama And Justin Bieber Both In New York Today; Expect 'Obama-Bieber' Gridlock

The World's Two Most Powerful Men In NYC Today

The world's two most powerful men will both be in New York Thursday and city residents are bracing themselves for a special brand of "Obama-Bieber" gridlock.

President Obama is scheduled to arrive by helicopter around 5pm to attend three fundraising events. First up, according to NBC News, will be the Democratic National Committee's Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Gala at the Midtown Sheraton. Actor Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the sold-out $1,250-a-ticket dinner, which comes only a couple days ahead of Gay Pride Parade in New York City and amidst gay marriage drama in Albany.

Next on the agenda for the POTUS is $35,800-a-ticket dinner at swanky Upper East Side restaurant Daniel, The New York Daily News reports, where he'll dine with some of the who's-who of Wall Street.

And last but not least, at 9:45 p.m. Obama will head to a fundraising performance of the Broadway musical "Sister Act", according to Politico. Tickets for the show sold for $250 to $10,000, the most expensive of which includes a photo op with the president.

And then there's international pop superstar Justin Bieber, who is in town this afternoon for the release of his new perfume, "Someday" at Macy's Herald Square. At the event Thursday a man jumped over the barrier and knocked Bieber over. He was unharmed but "very shaken up."

The New York Daily News' Gridlock Sam maps out the whole traffic mess here. He suggests 8th Avenue for uptown travel and avoiding 34th Street by 6th.

But the question on everyone's mind is will Obama and Bieber make good on their promise to the daughter of a 9/11 victim? We'll just have to wait and see...
