Orlando Bloom is now the holder of an honorary degree from the University of Kent.

The actor, 33, was recognized along with 340 graduates this week. The ceremonies took place in his hometown of Canterbury.

According to the Telegraph, Bloom said the degree was a "huge, huge honor." "I feel chuffed, as does my mother -- nobody more than my mother," he said.

Along with his mother, father and sister, Bloom's fiancee Miranda Kerr also attended the ceremony.

Bloom has a degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, but he missed his graduation ceremony from the school due to filming Lord of the Rings.
