WASHINGTON -- Her name may not be on the ballot, but former state Sen. Nancy Cassis is poised to win what could be a ticket to Congress anyway in Tuesday's Republican primary.
Despite the difficulties inherent in running a write-in campaign, Cassis of Novi holds a 52%-36% lead over her GOP rival, former teacher and reindeer rancher Kerry Bentivolio of Milford, according to a poll done by Lansing-based EPIC-MRA for the Free Press, WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) and three outstate stations.
