That Time Prince Made The Kardashians Disappear From 'New Girl'

If Prince kicking Kim Kardashian off the stage at Madison Square Garden wasn't evidence enough of his lack of interest in reality TV's first family, then this story of his guest stint on "New Girl" will certainly close the case.

When the sitcom's star, Zooey Deschanel, visited "Conan" on Monday, she revealed some behind-the-scenes scoop from the series' Super Bowl episode. Apparently, Prince's team passed along a message to Deschanel that the late music icon was a fan of the show and wanted to guest-star, but he had some stipulations.

According to Deschanel, the series had already invited Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian to also appear in the same episode at a celebrity-studded party. After Kris and Khloe filmed their scene, Prince caught wind of their cameo and nixed the idea on the spot.

Production assistants on set even burned the pages of the script featuring the family's lines, much to Deschanel's surprise.

"I felt so bad because obviously everyone had gone out of their way to be there on that day," Deschanel said, "but Prince was running the show."
