"Some think intuition is a gift, but it can be a curse as well--a voice calling to us from places that are better left unexplored...an echo of memories that will never die, no matter how hard we try to kill them."

In this week's episode, Emily is forced to acknowledge the consequesnces of her obsession with getting even. Sure, Emily's every fiber is devoted to revenge, but at what cost? We get a hint: someone's blood will be spilled on the Graysons' floor before the episode's end.

Cut to: 24 hours earlier: Emily confronts Aidan on the beach about having gone to see her mother. He doesn't exactly admit to it, but he warns Emily to be prepared for what she might find should she continue her search.

Aidan pays a second visit to Kara, Emily's mother, this time telling her that he's with the FBI. He knows the "right" information, so when he asks for some old documents of Gordon's, Kara obliges. Psych! She shoots him with a stun gun, ties him to a chair, and peaces out. According to her, he's either with the Graysons or the Americon Initiative, and she's not going to stick around to find out which.

Fauxmanda leaves Jack's with a suitcase to stay with Emily. She asks Emily why she forced the Graysons to embrace her -- was Emily trying to break up her relationship with Jack? Emily drops a bigger issue: her mother is alive, and the only person who can tell her where is Victoria. And, she needs Fauxmanda's help.

Speak of the devil, Vic requests Fauxmanda's presence to discuss a few things. And by a few things, she means how much it will cost to get her hands on that diary of David Clarke's. And, of course, by "of David Clarke's" we mean "written by Emily." Their conversation is interrupted by Charlie, and Vic quickly covers with a story of planning a baby shower. Emily makes Fauxmanda agree to it via hidden earbud, telling her to sell the journal so that they can get Vic's signature on a check.

In other Grayson news, Daniel is beginning to tire of going along with his parents' program. He listens to Ashley's voicemail and hears his father asking for dirt on him. What he doesn't hear is her standing up to Conrad later, telling him there's absolutely no dirt to dish, and that she will no longer be his "little spy."

Meanwhile, Kenny -- the neighbor whom Declan and co robbed -- comes by to collect on his promsied goods. Turns out those goods aren't retrievable without the breaking of a few kneecaps -- specifically Declan's -- so Jack offers him the cash that Declan received in their place. Kenny tells him that it's short by about $18,000. Jack promises to pay it off gradually ... but as usual, can't catch a break. A health inspector comes and tells him it's going to be about another $40,000 to rid the place of mold. In short, Jack is screwed. And, it seems that the screwing wasn't just a random act of the universe. What does Kenny want from Jack? Is it the bar?

And, that baby shower? Just as it's starting to seem like Fauxmanda isn't going to show, she does so with three friends from "the club." What kind of club? "Not bridge, I can tell you that," mutters Victoria. Fauxmanda assures Emily she's going to help her with the journal by doing what they planned: selling it for a $100,000 check, and getting information about Emily's mother.

Faumanda's check is appropriately delivered in a baby journal during present time, after which Fauxmanda excuses herself to go lie down, escorted by Vic. She shows Vic the hospital visitor log, matching the signature with the check she just received, and asks why she was there. Vic tells Fauxmanda that she was almost killed by her own mother. She tries to rip the check out of Fauxmanda's hand, but Fauxmanda holds on, and in the ensuing squabble Fauxmanda falls backwards over the banister onto the floor below.

Fauxmanda is rushed to the hospital, where the ER nurse asks Jack, Emily, and Charlotte what to do should it come down to saving either Amanda or the baby. "The baby ..." says Emily. "It's what she would have wanted."

"Intuition always has our best interest at heart," Emily says, quoting her father. It would appear so, but at quite a high price.

The silver lining? Nolan seems to have found love! With -- you guessed it -- his cute CFO Padma. She inadvertently alerts him of his father's death when she asks if he's going to go pick up his belongings before they are sold in auction. Citing her own experience with her grandmother, she urges him to go to the storage unit. They kiss over a box of his father's stuff, and for a brief moment it's all rainbows and butterflies. But, in true Revenge fashion, there was one thing that was a little off -- why did she pause over the framed souvenir check from David Clarke with that look of recognition on her face? Is everyone in the Hamptons connected to the Clarkes or the Graysons?

We close the episode with Emily seeing her mother in the hospital at Fauxmanda's side, and a memory comes back to her: swimming in the ocean, Kara tried to drown her. Vic's words were true. Emily finally breaks down, letting out the emotion she's been keeping at bay and letting Aidan hold her in his arms.

Stay tuned for Fauxmanda's fate: next week's episode is titled "Forgiveness."

"Revenge" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
