Russell Brand's New Home In Hollywood Hills West (PHOTOS)

Russell Brand definitely seems to be moving on after his split from ex-wife Katy Perry, but he didn't move too far.

The Huffington Post has confirmed that the British actor purchased his own home in the Hollywood Hills, just a couple of miles away from the estate he purchased with Perry before their divorce. Public records show that Brand's purchase closed Oct. 3 for $2.224 million and was initially listed in May for $2.399 million.

Brand's new home was designed by period revival architect Roy Selden Price in 1926 but has been recently restored, according to the official listing. Sitting high above Sunset Boulevard, the property has views all the way out to Catalina Island, and its master suite, two guest bedrooms and an office all look out at canyon and city views.

Don't be fooled by the home's humble entryway; photos in the slideshow below show that it leads to a huge living room that opens up to an outdoor dining terrace. The home's unique features include flying buttress-arches, a screening room, gourmet kitchen appliances and a studio apartment with a separate entrance. In all, the property has five bedrooms and 5.25 bathrooms.

The Los Angeles Times first reported on the purchase and notes that Brand's new home once belonged to British actor Laurence Olivier during the early 1930s.

After Brand and Perry filed for divorce, Brand reportedly signed over his share of the Hollywood Hills property they shared to Perry, and she eventually put it on the market April 2013. Her asking price: $5.988 million.

Billy Rose, Josh Myler and Gina Martino of The Agency shared the listing for Brand's new home, while Blanche A. D'Souza of Keller Williams Realty, Brentwood represented Brand.
