A military wife has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl as her husband watched via a live stream in Afghanistan.
Shawn Raymo, 22, and his wife Jessica Raymo, 21, both of Gouverneur, N.Y., are each charged with one count of felony use of a child less than 17 in a sexual performance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
The incident allegedly occurred in 2011, while Shawn Raymo, an Army solider, was deployed in Afghanistan and Jessica Raymo was living on Fort Drum in upstate New York.
According to New York State Police, Shawn Raymo used Skype to watch his wife having oral sex with an unidentified 15-year-old girl.
State police have not yet said what led to the couple's arrest Tuesday. It is also unclear what is the couple's relation to the victim.
Shawn Raymo returned from his deployment last year.
Lt. Col. David Konop, a spokesman for Fort Drum, declined to give additional information on the case.
"We are constantly trying to brief our soldiers on things that they should not be doing," Konop told the New York Daily News. Konop added that he is unaware of anything similar happening before involving Drum soldiers.
The Raymos were arraigned in Leray Town Court. Afterward they were sent to the Jefferson County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail each. The couple is awaiting grand jury action, police said.
