Star Jones is working on a new talk show, she told Fishbowl NY on Friday.
The television personality sat down with Fishbowl NY's Diane Clehane, who reported on the new project. "I can’t say much, but I can tell you exclusively I shot the pilot on Sunday and it’s multi-host – the opportunity came to me when I was in the middle of a million things — and I’m more excited about this than I’ve been in long time," Jones said. "It’s right in my wheel house."
"I don’t think the single-host format will be successful any longer. The time for those shows has passed,” she also said. “I think people want to tune in and see a group of people with some real diversity and that are relatable."
Jones is perhaps best known for her controversial tenure on "The View," one of the most successful roundtable television shows, and continues to make appearances on shows like "Today."
Single-host format shows, however, do not seem to be going anywhere: "Katie," for example, was the highest-rated freshman talk show last season, and Meredith Vieira recently announced that she will be hosting her own talk show beginning in 2014.
