Here's Why Taylor Swift Didn't Score Any Grammy Noms For 'Life Of A Showgirl'

It all comes down to one thing.

Grammy nominations were released on Friday, leading to the routine shock and awe from fans over the Recording Academy’s usual snubs and surprises

While certain shutouts were egregious, others weren’t that surprising.

Some social media users noticed that Taylor Swift’s most recent album, “The Life of Showgirl,” didn’t score a single nomination.

But there’s a key reason it wasn’t: Swift’s album wasn’t actually eligible.

“The Life of A Showgirl” was released on Oct. 3. And in order to be eligible for this year’s Grammys, Swift’s album would’ve had to come out between Aug. 31, 2024, and Aug. 30, 2025.

And yet still, some on the internet predicted there would be some outrage (and perhaps shitposting) over Swift being “snubbed”:

Her previous album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” also wouldn’t qualify for eligibility at the 68th annual awards show, as it was released on April 19, 2024.

“TTPD” did qualify for the 67th annual Grammys and earned six nominations, but took home zero wins ― a true (and rare) snub for the artist.
