California Dem Brutally Disses NFL Team To Make A Point About Mike Johnson

Talk about kicking a team when it's down, Congressman.

Good thing for Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) that his constituents aren’t from northeast Ohio.

The California lawmaker on Tuesday slammed a dubious claim by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) ― but Lieu dumped on the Cleveland Browns to do it.

Lieu shared a clip of Johnson prattling on about how the Republicans will “continue” to reduce health care prices and the cost of living. The speaker has not come up with a GOP plan to replace the Affordable Care Act, and grocery prices remain up over this time a year ago.

Lieu threw one of the NFL’s woebegone outfits under the bus to attack the speaker.

“That’s like saying the Browns are going to continue to win and be Super Bowl champions next year,” Lieu wrote on X.

Cleveland is 2-8 this season and is starting its third quarterback on Sunday (Shedeur Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders). Its coach, Kevin Stefanski, may be trying  to save his job. The once-storied franchise has just one playoff victory since the 1994 season and has never even made the Super Bowl.

“Hey!!! Leave the Browns of out this,” one person wrote, with multiple laughing emojis.

Cmon Ted, what did the Browns ever do to you ?” another asked.

“OK Ted, you had me until you dissed my Browns,” someone else shot back.

Well, at least one football fan expressed relief over Lieu’s comments.
