TONIGHT: Yo-Yo People at Kennedy Center

TOP 5 PICKS FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

1.) Yo-Yo People At Kennedy Center
The Look Both Ways: Street Arts Across America series continues with the aptly named Yo-Yo People. Blending yo-yos with hula hooping and unicycling, the duo believes in truth in advertising. If anyone from the Kennedy Center is reading this, please continue booking acts like this. These shows bring together a beautiful cross section of children and adults, all confused about what's going on, all of them smiling. 6 p.m., all ages, no cover

2.) Colin Quinn At DC Improv
The blunt, to the point, comic's comic is coming to the Improv for two nights. The former "S.N.L." Weekend Update anchor thrived on "Tough Crowd," playing the role of mediator of hot button issues. A veteran stand up, there isn't a crowd Quinn can't turn around. 8 p.m., 18+, $20

3. Mastadon At Fillmore Silver Spring
The future of metal has become its mainstream. Five years ago they were one of the only metal bands on indie rock summer fests. Now, they're one of many. The time has finally come for Black Sabbath-influenced metal. Intricate stoner rock riffs, mystical lyrics and long hair have returned to its rightful place on the metal stage. 7:30 p.m., all ages, $29.50

4.) Styleliner At 20th and P Street NW
What was once a food truck is now a fashion truck. Styleliner debuts in Dupont Circle today. This mobile boutique will be in town, mostly in Georgetown until the middle of June. So why go to the Wednesday event? Sales will benefit Women Thrive. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., all ages, prices vary

5.) Eurochannel Short Films Tour at SAIS
In honor of Europe Day, SAIS is bringing some short films about friendship and love to the District. 5 p.m., all ages, no cover
