Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens deflected the backlash by praising the capture of Danelo Cavalcante: “They’re proud of their work.”
“Was there any concern he would team up with another small man to step inside of a trench coat, 'Little Rascals’-style?” the reporter asked.
The convicted murderer had been on the run since Aug. 31, when he was filmed climbing out of the prison yard.
“He’s desperate enough to use that weapon,” police said of the convicted killer, who allegedly stole a rifle with a mounted scope and flashlight Monday night.
