Originally from Brazil, Gustavo is the Director of Programs for the Global Environment Facility. He was the Chief Conservation and Science Officer of Conservation International in Washington DC, and Professor of Ecology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, and has published close to 150 publications, articles and books.
