Founder of The Power

Jeffrey H. Campagna is the founder of The Power (, an online organizing network dedicated to empowering grassroots and netroots activists to fight for LGBT equality. In 2009 the New York Blade named The Power the most promising use of new technology to emerge after the passage of Proposition 8. Most recently, The Power organized a protest of Harold Ford, Jr. that many media outlets are crediting with stopping his efforts to run for Senate in New York.

A major fundraiser for Democratic candidates and LGBT causes, and an expert in online organizing, Campagna is often consulted by candidates and organizations about mobilizing the LGBT population. In September he served as the lead the New York City mobilization effort for the National Equality March on Washington. During the 2008 election he organized every LGBT fundraiser in New York for Hillary for President.

Campagna spent nearly ten years in the film business and has worked for New Line Cinema, Fine Line Features, and Julia Roberts. He produced the award winning film Poster Boy, which was distributed by Here! Films in 2006.

An attorney, he practiced in the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office and at the firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind Wharton & Garrison.

He is a graduate of NYU Film School and Fordham University School of Law.
