A Solution For Infant Mortality? Christian Organization Emphasizes Its Child Survival Program
|

The Christian Organization Compassion aims to use its influence and funds to "release children from poverty." Their latest campaign, the Child Survival Program, takes a different approach to infant mortality. Instead of providing aid, donations to the program go to helping educate young and expectant mothers in developing countries about growth monitoring, breast feeding, immunization and literacy.

Instead of playing catch-up and attempting only to treat infants when they become ill, the Child Survival Program wants to give mothers the education they need to raise healthy children from the get-go and help them stay healthy in those first crucial years of life.
