Beauty Turner, a charismatic Chicago figure and public-housing activist, died Thursday. She suffered an aneurysm Monday night, her family said.

Turner, 51, was a former resident of Robert Taylor Homes who dedicated herself to telling the stories of the city's most vulnerable citizens.
