Bill Romjue Hired As Andrew Romanoff's Campaign Manager

In an email to campaign supporters Monday, Senatorial candidate Andrew Romanoff announced he had hired Democratic operative Bill Romjue as his campaign manager. Romanoff had been without a campaign manager since October, when former Denver City Councilwoman Sue Casey left the campaign.

Romjue previously worked as Iowa state director for Joe Biden's presidential campaign, and is a former registered lobbyist for the Missouri Biotechology Association.

In the email, the Romanoff campaign wrote of Romjue:

Bill earned a Bronze Star in Vietnam, where he served in the U.S. Army. He brings more than 30 years of political experience, having organized more than a dozen statewide races around the country and played key roles in a host of national campaigns, including those of Joe Biden, Gary Hart, Bob Kerrey, and Jimmy Carter. He also served as chief of staff to House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt.

The Romanoff campaign has come under fire of late for it's apparent lack of energy and leadership. In a recent Rasmussen poll, Romanoff was "seen very favorably by 16% [of Coloradans] and very unfavorably by 18%." He faces a significant cash disadvantage, having reported a $292,986 fundraising total at the end of the third quarter. His Democratic opponent, Michael Bennet, has raised $3.6 Million since the beginning of the year. Rasmussen reported similar 'favorable' numbers for Bennet, and higher name recognition, with 28% viewing him 'unfavorably.'
