First Lady Patricia Blagojevich, who has come under federal scrutiny for real estate deals involving people with state government contracts, is expected to start a new fundraising job next month with a nonprofit Chicago homeless agency that has received more than $2 million in state funds since her husband was elected governor.

The Chicago Christian Industrial League announced the hiring Wednesday, saying Patti Blagojevich will become its development director after Labor Day.
