Heart attacks are typically something to be avoided at all costs. If you're going to have one, though, you couldn't pick a better venue than a convention center full of several thousand emergency-room physicians.
That's what happened earlier this week during a convention for the American College of Emergency Physicians in Denver.
When an unnamed attendee collapsed on Monday, three doctors immediately began resuscitating him, Elaine Salter, a spokesperson for ACEP confirmed to HuffPost. One of the physicians just happened to have a CPR mask in her bag; doctors also used a nearby defibrillator to revive the distressed man.
More than 6,000 E.R. doctors attended the convention, so finding bystanders to help administer CPR wasn't much of an issue. The patient was whisked to a nearby hospital and is reportedly doing well.
Unfortunately, ACEP conventions only happen once a year, greatly diminishing the odds of such a favorable heart attack locale. The second best place to survive a heart attack? A Las Vegas casino.
