The Hideout and The A.V. Club on Monday announced the first wave of their Frankensteined mini-music festival's lineup.

The A.V. Fest & Hideout Block Party, to be held Sept. 14-15 at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., will offer a decidedly laid back alternative to the punk-oriented Riot Fest it is scheduled opposite, with the likes of Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard and Lee Fields & the Expressions among its early lineup. Local favorites Redmoon Theater will also be on hand for two special performances during the event.

A limited number of two-day passes to the festival are now on sale for $40 plus ticket fees, with tickets elevating in price the longer one waits. Single-day tickets will be available at a later date and additional acts will be announced on June 25.

A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit Rock For Kids, Literacy Work, Drummond Elementary School and Oscar Meyer Magnet School.

Last year, the inaugural A.V. Fest featured Archers of Loaf, Hum and The Thermals. The fifteenth-annual Hideout Block Party last year was headlined by Andrew Bird and Mavis Staples.
