There’s a MAGA civil war brewing between some of President Donald Trump’s key allies in Congress ― and Jimmy Kimmel is here for it.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has called out her fellow Republicans over the jump in health insurance premiums set to come at the end of this year due to the expiration of Affordable Care Act credits.
Kimmel was stunned.
“Here’s a woman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid. She chugged it,” Kimmel said. “Not just the regular flavors like ‘close the borders’ and ‘the election was stolen.’ She drank the obscure limited-time-only flavors like ‘Jewish space laser’ and ‘Pizzagate.’ And now she’s looking around at these people, she’s like, ‘Are you guys nuts?’ Sometimes you go so far right, you come out on the other side.”
But Greene’s position has rankled some on her own side of the aisle, including longtime Kimmel nemesis Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
“Ted Cruz is so upset with Marjorie he can barely unhinge his jaw to swallow a piglet,” Kimmel said, and rolled footage of Cruz claiming that Greene is “very, very liberal now.”
“I have to say, I love this,” Kimmel confessed. “It feels like ‘Jurassic Park’ when the velociraptors turn on the guys who run the place.”
Then he took a Halloween-themed shot at Cruz.
“You know, Ted Cruz is the only sitting U.S. senator who can go trick-or-treating without a mask,” he said. “His natural face is more than sufficient.”
