Justin Bieber Performs A Heartfelt Tribute To Orlando Victims

The star dedicated "Purpose" to the Pulse victims -- and Christina Grimmie, too.

During his concert in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday night, Justin Bieber offered a solemn tribute to the June 12 mass shooting at the city's Pulse nightclub.

As seen in the video above, the 22-year-old performed an emotional version of "Purpose," the title track of his hit 2015 album, as the names of the 49 victims appeared on a massive screen behind him.

Included among the names was that of "The Voice" singer Christina Grimmie, who died just one day before the Pulse nightclub shooting after being shot, allegedly by a deranged fan, after an Orlando performance. Grimmie, 22, was reportedly a close friend of Bieber's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

As the song reached its crescendo, Bieber stood up and stared up at the screen before a pyrotechnic "waterfall" began to descend onto the stage.

At another point in the show, Bieber told the audience, "You've been through a lot here, and my heart goes out to all the families," according to local NBC affiliate 9 News.

He offered another emotional tribute on Twitter following the performance.

All in all, it was an incredible message of hope from a superstar who knows a thing or two about perseverance. Thank you, Justin.
