Kate Snow is leaving ABC News for NBC's "Dateline."
Snow, the weekend co-anchor of "Good Morning America" will join NBC News this spring, and will act as a correspondent for "Dateline" as well as contribute to other NBC news properties.
"This is a great day for NBC News," NBC News president Steve Capus said in an announcement. "Kate is a tremendously talented and respected journalist. This signifies our commitment to growing 'Dateline' as it continues its ratings success in primetime, and our belief in investing in the future talent of NBC News."
"'Dateline' has enjoyed a great period of success and we are now even more fortunate to be welcoming Kate to our team," executive producer David Corvo said. "She's the whole package. She can cover breaking news, she can interview, she can write, and I'm happy she'll be doing all that at 'Dateline.'"
Snow, who worked at CNN before joining ABC, was seen as a contender for Juju Chang's new job as newsreader on the weekday edition of "Good Morning America."
"Welcome to the "A-Team" Kate Snow," Luke Russert tweeted shortly after the announcement. "Great day for Team Peacock."
