Now that it's finally spring, we can expect to see more braided hairstyles on the red carpet. Unlike a classic chignon or retro side-swept waves, braids add a fresh and fun touch to any ensemble. But that's only if they're styled right.
Lindsay Lohan tried her hands at a messy French braid for the Los Angeles premiere of "Scary Movie V" on Thursday night. The intricate plaits formed a headband towards the front, then wrapped into a low ponytail. Lindsay added another layer of interest by allowing a few strands to cascade down the side of her cleavage-baring Dolce & Gabbana dress.
And earlier this week, January Jones showed up at the 3rd Annual Coach Evening to Benefit Children's Defense Fund wearing a messy French braid updo that reminded us of our childhood. With her blonde locks loosely braided up, the "Mad Men" star's winged eyeliner and red-orange lipstick popped against her porcelain complexion.
