Logo TV Supports United For Marriage Coalition's 'Stand For Marriage' Initiative

Logo TV Makes Big Move For Gay Marriage

With the Supreme Court's review of the Defense Of Marriage Act and Prop 8 cases nearing, many are voicing their stance on marriage equality. On March 22 Logo TV announced their support of the United For Marriage Coalition's round up to support marriage equality at the Supreme Court.

The initiative, titled "Stand For Marriage", aims to raise awareness and activate engagement from supporters of the marriage equality movement. "Stand For Marriage" has issued a call to action ahead of the first day of the Supreme Court hearings on Prop 8 on March 26. The coalition is standing in unity with more than 150 events in every state across the U.S. and is also hosting a gathering in Washington D.C. Logo TV has committed to lending its support by airing a series of on-air and online activations.

Logo TV will broadcast the names of submitted lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) couples along with their years of commitment and residence, in effort to personalize the battle for marriage equality. Coinciding with the former mentioned, Logo will air live tweets that are tagged with the official hashtag of the "Stand For Marriage" initiative, #UnitedForMarriage.

“As much as advocacy and personal experiences have made change, the media's portrayals of real couples have also helped to bring marriage equality to the front lines,” said Lisa Sherman, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Logo. “We are thrilled to use the power of our media platforms to help inform and make positive change to ensure that all Americans have the right to marry.”

Couples who are interested in participating can register now via a customized tab on the Logo TV Facebook Page here.
