The City Council floated an idea Wednesday to extend the concept behind the city's restaurant grading system to the grimiest of places -- the NYC subway.

The New York Post reports that MTA official Lois Tendler said she would consider the proposal, but WNYC says that the Transit Authority later nixed the idea.

The MTA was quick to point out that there is a grading system in place, but not one that is as embarrassingly overt as the restaurant system. But maybe the public is the one who should be grading! Tell us what grade your subway stop deserves, and why!
