The Oprah Winfrey Network is expected to turn a profit in its first year, the New York Times reports. That's about a year before previous forecasts predicted.

According to the Times' Brian Stelter, Brad Singer, the chief financial officer at OWN's parent company Discovery Communications, told anon Tuesday that a profit is forecast in 2011 "because of ad acceptance and good performance."

Discovery had previously told analysts not to expect OWN to make money by 2012 or 2013.
