Rand Paul Offers Rebuttal To Obama Speech

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) gave a rebuttal to President Barack Obama's address on Syria Tuesday.

In his rebuttal -- which was pre-taped -- Paul questioned what U.S. military action would do to help the situation in Syria.

"The question must be asked: would a U.S. bombing campaign make it more or less likely that [Syrian President Bashar] Assad loses control of the chemical weapons?" Paul said.

"Would a U.S. bombing campaign make it more or less likely that Assad attacks Israel with chemical weapons? Would a bombing campaign make it more or less likely that refugees stream into Jordan?" Paul said. "Would a bombing campaign in Syria make the region more or less stable?"

"Just about any bad outcome you can imagine is made more likely by U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war."
