Kathy Griffin’s getting a lot of shit right now for (in case you’ve been under a rock) posting a photo holding a bloody, decapitated head of Donald Trump. It’s vulgar. It’s violent. It’s jarring.

Take a breath, and get over yourselves.

Kathy Griffin is a comedian. A comedian known for in-your-face, over the line, hair raising, boundary pushing, satirical subject matter. I see no judgement or condemnation regarding Donald’s race, gender expression, sexual orientation, economic status, or religious affiliation. This is no photo depicting our first Black president being lynched, hanged, or as a terrorist. Instead, I see indignation in response to Trump’s actual words and deeds. Is it jarring? Hell yes. This silly image is nothing in comparison to the reality of Trump’s presidency.

Kathy, I get you.
