As a boy growing up in New York City, Martin "Marty" Heeb witnessed American G.I.'s coming home from World War II, and it made a great impression on him. He later joined the military and served in the Korean War -- and ever since, mindful of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, he's been a passionate advocate for veterans. Now a lifetime member of VFW 1384, his latest pursuit is working to help returning vets find gainful employment- something he feels the government isn't doing enough to promote. Heeb recently lost his wife, and his son is currently battling cancer. He lives alone in Long Beach, New York.
