Last Friday night a massive group of artists, performers and influential people in the Brooklyn nightlife scene packed Crown Heights venue Mister Rogers for what was dubbed a queer deconstruction of the seminal "Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Curated by art collective and party promoters The Culture Whore, "ROCKY HORROR SHOWS SHOWS SHOWS" brought together queers from across the spectrum for an exploration of what this film means in a modern day context through performance and aesthetic.

As The Huffington Post previously discussed, for many young queers -- whether they knew they were queer or not at the time -- "Rocky Horror Picture Show" provided the first point of entry into a world of possibilities outside of the heteronormative matrix. These characters, bodies and concepts did not align with the ideas many of us were taught about what it meant to be human and "correct," and it likely affected each and every one of us in a myriad of different ways.

Check out some photos from this queer deconstruction of "Rocky Horror" below.
