Everyone can have their five minutes of fame, but for those whose fame is of celebrity stature, each one has a public relations manager, or PR person behind them.

But what if you go beyond celebrity? What if you are in the rare stratosphere of iconic legend? What if you are Barbara Streisand, Kirk Douglas, Warren Beatty, Gene Hackman, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, Jane Seymore and dozens more of this exceptional stature, who then do you turn to?

The answer is my guest this week on Between the Lines, the legendary publicist, Dick Guttman. A publicist who cares not only about his clients but their art and well being.

However, being a publicist by itself would not warrant an appearance on the show. It is Dick’s uncanny wisdom about life that makes his clients stay with him for over forty years.
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Don’t fixate on your home runs or strikeouts. Learn from each.

But Dick is more than just a publicist. He is a man of impeccable integrity and his book, Starflacker, is not just about him and certainly not a “tell-all” about his clients. His mission, and the focus of our conversation, is about the useful skills of persuasion and learning to love and embrace the tough problems we all face.

Have a great week and do the best you can with what you got,
