I just got this month's cable bill from Time Warner. $49.88.

I can't remember the last time I turned the TV on. I kind of ignore it every day; it's right there in the bedroom, collecting dust. College football season is long over, and even then, we watched the last game at a sports bar.

A few weeks ago, my friend A. brought her toddler son over and he trundled around the apartment in that cute, just-learning-to-walk way; there's no TV in his house so when he saw it, he stared at his reflection in the blank screen and pushed his chubby fingers into the collecting dust.

There's still an imprint.

Perhaps it's time to cancel.
