Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) is trailing most of his possible Democratic challengers, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-Pa.) leads Corbett, 45 percent to 37 percent, among Pennsylvania voters. Corbett also trailed five of the other six Democrats polled on by Quinnipiac, leading only against Pennsylvania Public Utility Commissioner John Hanger. Just 36 percent approve of Corbett's job performance, and 56 percent say he does not deserve to be re-elected.
Only 31 percent of women approve of the governor. Since Schwartz has been endorsed by EMILY's List, a group which focuses on electing pro-choice Democratic women to office, issues related to reproductive rights may come into play as the campaign progresses.
HuffPost Pollster's average, which includes all publicly available polling, currently finds Schwartz at 46 percent and Corbett at 35 percent.
The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,061 registered Pennsylvania voters from Dec. 11 to Dec. 16 and has a margin of error of 3 percent.
