The events leading up to the financial crisis certainly had all the ingredients of a dramatic blockbuster.

And nearly three years after the economy came close to collapse, HBO released Too Big To Fail, a 99-minute film depicting the memorable history of the 2008 financial crisis. Viewers interested in getting a behind-the-scenes take on the collapse can watch the film on Blu-ray with HBO Select. The re-release of the film includes a timeline of major events and commentary from financial experts.

Adapted from New York Times reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin's best-selling book, HBO's account narrates the role government officials played in bailing out the financial sector. The film features notable players such as then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, CEO of the now defunct Lehman Brothers Robert Fuhd, Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke, and then-president of the New York Federal Reserve bank and current Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

Above is a "behind the scenes" look at the making of Too Big To Fail.
