Report That Typhoon Death Toll Nearly Doubled Was Incorrect

On Thursday, the Associated Press corrected a report that had claimed the official death toll of Typhoon Haiyan had nearly doubled to 4,460 people. The news agency clarified that the 4,460 figure released by the U.N. referred to evacuation centers instead of fatalities.
