On Wedneday, March 30, Dame Vivienne Westwood hosted the official launch party for her flagship store at 8320 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Westwood has a reputation for producing edgy and punk-inspired, high-end collections so it seems only fitting that she would bring her aesthetic to one of LA's most colorful, eclectic shopping neighborhoods. AsThe Telegraph put it, "the kooky designer chose West Hollywood as the location for her first American shop, eschewing New York where style is more conservative and less prone to risk-taking."

On hand to celebrate the store's opening were eccentric celebs like Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese, as well as actresses Anna Kendrick, Malin Akerman, and Kristin Davis. Also present was Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks, spokeswoman for Westwood's new "Get A Life" Palladium Jewellery Collection, which also launched last night. Hendricks wore clothing designed by Westwood and jewelry from the new collection.

The three-story, 10,000 square foot shop is now open for Angelenos looking to see Westwood's newest creations. According to LA Weekly, "The Melrose outpost features selections from all of Westwood's lines for men, women and even babies. There are even limited edition, L.A.-only pieces. These range from a keychain with the store's contact info on the back, to a leather jacket and various accessories and t-shirts."
