Max Benavidez

Max Benavidez, PhD, is an author, media analyst, professor at USC and communications executive in higher education.

Max Benavidez, PhD, is Associate Vice President for Strategic Communications at Claremont Graduate University. He previously served as the Associate VP of Public Affairs at Claremont McKenna College as well as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Communications at UCLA and as Director of Media Relations at Caltech. He has been a producer at KNBC-TV and Southern California Public Radio and managed his own firm whose clients included Harvard University, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Ford Foundation and others. He is currently an adjunct professor at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He has been published extensively on topics including communications, the arts, public policy, and social media. He is a 2016-17 Fulbright U.S. Scholar and a former Ahmanson Fellow and received his B.A. at UCLA and his Ph.D. in New Media at Claremont Graduate University.
