Nancy Farrell, M.P.A.

AFSP Board Chair and Loss Survivor

Nancy Farrell is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Nancy lost her brother, Michael Farrell, to depression in February 1992. She first joined the Boston Chapter of AFSP in 1994, served as its chair, and co-chaired the nation’s first LGBT Suicide Prevention Conference. She represented AFSP at the White House’s Champions of Change program in 2011. Nancy chaired AFSP’s Public Policy Council before being elected chair of the Board.

Nancy is the Chief Executive Officer of Regina Villa Associates, a Boston public policy consulting firm, where she has managed civic engagement, public affairs and media projects for RVA's clients for 33 years. She has an extensive background in the management of public policy and public administration issues. She is President of the Cronin Foundation to Fight Ovarian Cancer, located in Boston.

Nancy has been a writer and editor and served as legislative director of a statewide labor union. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
