For the first time the Hollywood Film Awards will air on television and will be hosted by Queen Latifah airing on CBS November 14th. Here are 10 things I learned about Queen Latifah:

1. She got her name, Latifah, at age 8 after reading a book of Muslim names. Latifah means kind, nice and delicate.

2. She was born Dana Elaine Owens.

3. She won a Grammy Award.

4. She won a Golden Globe Award.

5. She won two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

6. She received noms for an Emmy and an Academy Award.

7. She was raised Baptist but went to Catholic School.

8. She signed to Tommy Boy Records at age 18.

9. This is her second go round with a talk show.

10. Add film producer to her credits.

Peace, love, compassion, and blessings.
