11-Year-Old Boy Saves Mom From Attacker With Kitchen Knife

An 11-year-old boy jumped on the back of a man who was stabbing his mother this morning, then ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife before the attacker finally fled their home in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, police say.

The boy was taken in serious condition to Children's Memorial Hospital, and the mother, 40, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was also reported in serious condition.
