An Elgin mom is facing criminal charges after police say she encouraged her teenage daughter to beat up another girl, then videotaped the assault that followed.

Police say the 16-year-old daughter of Anita Joost, 46, had been arguing with a 15-year-old girl when Joost encouraged her daughter to "kick her ass" and arranged for the girls to settle their differences physically, according to WGN. Joost then allegedly drove her daughter to the fight and videotaped her hitting the other girl, and pulling her hair, causing her to bleed from the mouth.

Joost and her daughter both admitted to their involvement in the confrontation during an interview with police Thursday, according to the Daily Herald. Joost is facing felony charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and aggravated battery in a public way, and her bail was set at $50,000.

Joost's daughter is being held at the Kane County Youth Home, facing aggravated battery charges, according to CBS Chicago.
