Start your engines, car lovers. The 2013 auto show in downtown Detroit begins Monday, with two weeks of cars, cars and more cars to satiate even the biggest four-wheeled fanatics.

The North American International Auto Show kicks off with a two-day media preview on Jan. 14 and 15. During that time, Detroit will be flooded with more than 6,000 international journalists as the Big Three and other automakers unveil the newest cars. According to Autoweek, automakers plan 50 car reveals for the show, including the anticipated 2014 Chevy Corvette C7, BMW 4-series coupe, 2014 Jeep Liberty and Cadillac ELR.

While you need a hard-to-come-by press pass to get in for the first two days, locals are better served by waiting until later in the week anyways -- downtown Detroit will be mobbed, even more than during sporting events.

On Wednesday, Jan. 16. and Thursday, Jan. 17, the auto industry gets its own preview, where you can see engineers on their hands and knees with tape measures, checking out rival car companies' creations. NAIAS then hosts the auto show's black tie Charity Preview from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday to benefit organizations including the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, March of Dimes Metro Detroit and the Children's Center. According to the NAIAS website, the Charity Preview has raised more than $87 million for regional children's charities since 1976.

The show then opens its doors to the public every day at 9 a.m. for nine days beginning Saturday, Jan. 19.

Check back with HuffPost Detroit in the next week to see all the newest cars, automakers' big announcements, a guide for out-of-towners, what to do when you leave Cobo Hall and -- if we can sneak our way in -- dispatches from the best parties.

Below, check out some of the big reveals from last year's auto show. For more information on the 2013 NAIAS, including hours, tickets and a countdown clock to help you pass the seconds until Monday, click on over to the auto show's official website.
