A Boston College senior from Osterville is in good condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after he was stabbed on the university's Chestnut Hill campus this weekend, a school spokesman said.

At around 2 a.m. Saturday, five men tried to enter a student residence commonly referred to as the Mods, short for modular apartments, said Jack Dunn, a Boston College spokesman. After 21-year-old Jeremiah Hegarty and several others asked the group to leave, he was stabbed with a knife by an unidentified man who later fled, Dunn said.
