The Taste of Chicago began this week and Pitchfork kicked off Friday, putting Chicago's back-to-back big-ticket festival season in full swing.

You may see your fellow fest-goers enjoying the weather with a furry friend in tow. Jealous? Well, there's one way to fix that.

This week, we're featuring another group of area cats, dogs and other pets that are available for adoption at Chicago-area shelters. To our knowledge, they've all been spayed or neutered and are up to date with their vaccinations.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless.
