Forget huge screens and iPads. CNN just debuted its virtual U.S Senate during election coverage -- and it blew our minds.

It seemed totally normal at first. CNN's Tom Foreman appeared in front of a cool digital background. Nothing to see here:

But then THIS happened:

WHOA! Where'd Sen. Mary Landrieu come from?

And they just kept coming!

Then it got really crazy. Like, first Sen. Angus King was here:

But then he was over there!

And one second we were just looking at an empty chair:

And then out of NOWHERE: Vice President Joe Biden!

Kudos for creativity?
