Expectations

Do you ever ask yourself why you get upset, irritated, or annoyed when people or situations do or don’t work out the way you would like? I find myself asking myself this very question. This brings me to the realization that I must take a look into my own feelings, emotions, and thoughts; what I discovered became an eye-opening revelation.

Expectation- A strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.

How can you justify the placing of expectations on others? You have no modicum of control. Clearly the only person you are qualified to place the burden of an expectation on is yourself. Only you can set standards, apply boundaries, establish goals, and implement the dreaded expectation that you wish, want, and desire to achieve. Through exploring the inner trenches of my mind, I find myself guilty of expecting from others what I should truly only expect from myself;

So, I decree and declare myself to be these expectations:

I expect the right to serve a higher power greater than myself. I choose to call him Lord God.

I expect the right to be thankful for this precious gift of life.

I expect the right to be free, to think, speak, and pray.

I expect the right to make mistakes and learn from them.

I expect the right to get up after I fall without hesitation.

I expect the right to be humble and appreciate the simply things.

I expect the right to love and be loved.

I expect the right to greet each day as a challenge to achieve the impossible.

I expect the right to be me.

Sentence imposed to be continuously carried out!
