A stunning video from the Snohomish County helicopter rescue team captures their incredible work during a successful rescue of a hiker found clinging to the edge of a mountain.

About a week ago, the team, made up of emergency rescue volunteers, received a call to save a hiker near the Snoqualmie Pass in Washington. The hiker had been stranded on a cliff and unable to get down, according to the rescue team's Vimeo page. By the time he dialed 911, he told the sheriff's office that he wasn't sure if he could hold on much longer, KiroTV reported. The team arrived to find the hiker stuck at 5,000 ft., gripping the ledge to stay alive.

"[I] let him know to keep holding the rock. Don't grab me. Let me come and do my thing. Everything's going to be all right. We're going to get you out of here," Miles McDonough, the rescue worker that was lowered to the hiker told the source regarding the rescue process.

McDonough had to use strop extraction technique, which is employed in circumstances in which it is too dangerous for the rescuer to come off the hoist hook, to bring the hiker to safety, according to KiroTV.

At the 2:32 mark, the video shows hair-raising footage of the hiker's isolation on the steep, vertical terrain. The video also shows the expertly executed rescue, which was thankfully a success.
